Recently, I renewed/upgraded my broadband package to fibre and chose to purchase the suggested replacement router (Plusnet Hub One) for the fibre package. All working smoothly.
I have a blackspot for wifi reception in one part of my house. I would like to use the previous Plusnet router (Plusnet Zero / Sagemcom 2704n) as a wifi extender in this area. It will not be connected by ethernet cable (too far) and neither is use of the household wiring an option.
Ideally, I would like someone to set out the steps I need to take to get this set up to work, bearing in mind that my main router receives a fibre package, whereas my previous router didn’t. If this has already been done in a previous post, please let me know the link thereto.

Before reading those posts, I have already attempted to make the necessary adjustments to the 2704n. It almost works, but doesn’t! The 2704n seems to be broadcasting, but my tablet does not automatically switch between the two routers to get the strongest signal.
I was following various Youtube videos with the most relevant being this one:

The Plusnet post and the Youtube video differ in one respect; the Plusnet one says to change the IP address to one within the range of the main router’s IP addresses (192.168.1.64 – 192.168.1.253), whereas the Youtube video (and other Youtube videos) says one should use an IP address NOT within that range.
I’m a silver surfer, so keep it simple please!
