Hi all,
I've been with Plusnet since about August last year, no major complaints - despite a few hiccups with linespeed the team have done their best to resolve.
My question today is, I'm currently in the 8MB Value package and get a fairly decent speed of 4.1MB - I'm not unhappy with this but was recently looking into upping my speed if possible. My exchange offers ADSL2+ and gives me an estimate of 10MB. Do you think if I upgrade to the Extra 10MB line package, I'll see much of a speed increase?
My other question is for Plusnet staff - is it all possible to 'trial' the Extra package for say like a month then if I noticed much difference I would stay on that package? With no strings.
Many thanks,
Mark

As you are currently on one of the new products you can switch back and forward without problems.
What happens if you are moved to ADSL2+ and then move back to Value is totally unclear.
If you post your full router stats (noise margin, speeds and attenuation) we might have a better idea as to the likely speed increase

Look for your router model here http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/frogstats.php

Your current sync speed is very high for your noise margin and attenuation and may be reflected in the high FEC count.
I suspect that your current IP profile is somewhat lower than the sync speed would generate.
Rather than doing a BT speedtest at this stage can you advise what the current line speed is from here https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed
