Just ran a speed test and discovered that my upload speed (ADSL+) has dropped from 1mbs to .5mbs.
Support do not answer the phone. Chat is unavailable. No indication that one can request restoration via the website. Seriously unhappy with CS.
Would like to find out why and how to restore the speed.
Any suggestions?
Fixed! Go to the fix.

Thanks for reply. You can tell things were not working too well yesterday!
The BT speed tester was working fully a few minutes ago and returned readings of 9.0 down and 0.9 up which is what I would have expected, compared with the lower upload yesterday. I did however find it slow to connect to the Plusnet website so there may have been some glitches at your end.
Thanks for checking. I will be more patient in future!

Your connection has been stable for the past 4 days
It looks like the test I completed about an hour ago caused the router to resync and now you're getting 1095kbps.
Running a line test is actually failing with a loop rectified fault which can cause intermittent problems so I'd recommend running through the troubleshooting above.

I have replaced the microfilter with a new one and connected it directly to the master socket. No other connections to phone line before or after. Just the phone and router.
Have run BT Speedtest - no noticeable change
Dial tone OK
Quiet line test 17070 totally silent.
Will leave it conected like this until tomorrow so that you can if required do another test at your end.

Aye, I appreciate that.
I've tested your line [at 16:57] and we're no longer detecting an issue now.
The next step is to probably try a different router.

It is currently delivering 9.4 down and 0.9 up and I am quite happy with that.
The router is an oldish Netgear DGN 2200 but I also have a later N600 that I was given by a relative recently. Not sure if a change will have any further benefits as it streams BT Sport without any break ups - if it ain't broke , as they say.....
Many thanks for your help.
