Do you know if any of your neighbours do anything on a Friday evening and Saturday evening that they don't do the rest of the week?

You definitely can't hear any audible crackling or other noises on the line when using the phone?

Were you on pcl-ag04 before this happened? If you don't know try and keep a running log from now on, just in case.
Is it possible a neighbour (or even yourself) had switched on something electrical at that time?

Spoken to both immediate neighbours and neither have switched anything on around that time.
Checked 17070 and no unusual noise/crackling
One thing I have established, it's not the filter or the cable, as I just swapped out the router only. So narrowing down to the TG582n with new firmware or an outside influence

There's a full release of 10.2.2.B now there, instead of the demo version, it shouldn't be any different but give it a try tomorrow just to be sure. If that still gives the same issues then try the 10.2.5.2. but read the thread about it first.
I'm sort of thinking it's unlikely to be firmware if you had the issue before with 8.4.4.J.

Here's the crazy idea......... I've only recently moved from BT to PN. While I was with BT they used to throttle the bandwidth between 18:00hrs and Midnight. At the moment the UK is using BST( British Summer Time) and as such midnight(GMT) is actually 23:00 hrs. So the time frame 17:00 - 23:00hrs fits BT's throttling time of 18:00 - Midnight.
Crazy I know but possible ?

Whatever is happening can be as mild as causing my download speed to drop to as violent as making my dsl disconnect almost every 15 minutes but only in that 6 hour period. I live in a terrace street, so have neighbours both sides, across the street and behind me....... so if it is a local thing it is going to be almost impossible to find without special equipment
