Iphone 14 or something, though it's not connected to the wifi for 90% of the day.

OnePlus Nord, only connected maybe once every couple of days for a few mins at a time.

@MyInternetisSoS

So can you power them both OFF now, and leave them off until tomorrow ?

The oneplus is already off, not the iphone though as my fiancee needs it for assorted administrative tasks related to her career.

Re: Terrible bufferbloat, packet loss, jitter, etc. Text support service DOES NOT WORK

So far it seems to have significantly reduced the jitter (from 7pm), but considering for most of the day neither of the phones was connected to it anyway, that doesn't make any sense to me. What would even be using the wireless? Nothing was using it because my fiancee was out and I've not turned my phone on all day anyway.

So still doesn't make any sense given there was nothing to saturate it.

So confused.

But it does presumably heighten the hypothesis that the cause is local to me, admittedly. Hopefully that means Plusnet can fix it Smiley

Ofc as it has gotten worse so quickly and so recently without any extra devices being added onto the wifi, it cannot be that the equipment was innately going to produce these results--as it didn't do so before with no variables altered!

Re: Terrible bufferbloat, packet loss, jitter, etc. Text support service DOES NOT WORK

Well there's your problem !

I could explain why, but what's the point in wasting my breath when you won't listen or accept the solution

and instead have yet another rant about some other random [-Censored-] that makes no sense that won't fix your issue.

I GIVE UP and am unsubscribing from this topic - which is a shame given how obvious the solution is !

Re: Terrible bufferbloat, packet loss, jitter, etc. Text support service DOES NOT WORK

Very unpleasant comments from you the whole time. Cheers.

The only thing I've been told the whole time is to pay to upgrade when it was fine a month ago, as if I just have to accept it's natural or inevitable that it become unuseable from being fine in 1 month.

No, that isn't sensible.

But if you want to keep being rude then enjoy, whatever, if you'd actually read what I'd said you'd know that all things staying the same, it got worse in a short period of time, so it doesn't make sense to say it's innate to the hub/speed.

I said that many times and I'm sorry you'd rather be nasty to a stranger than read a sentence or two.

Hi let's please try not to be mean. I don't know why I'm having to say this to two separate people. I would rather not be here either but plusnet don't have a live chat option because _________.

I hope this isn't too much to ask of you, Philip.

Re: Terrible bufferbloat, packet loss, jitter, etc. Text support service DOES NOT WORK

In the hour since I turned the wifi back on, the one (1) device connected to it has had an average download speed of...0.02 megabits per second (in terms of the overall downloaded data in the time period).

So it's obviously not saturating the network. Let's please avoid the insults or avoid commenting if you cannot bare to do so.

but its NOT downloaded data that's causing the problem, its the amount of data being uploaded!

@MyInternetisSoS

I take it your PC is running Windows? Do you use Onedrive?

What is it set to back up, this will be uploading data. Maybe check that, maybe log it off and close it to that improves the situation.

On the Hub you can check how much data usage for each attached device >Home >My network

Did you ever look at MTR see post #36

Re: Terrible bufferbloat, packet loss, jitter, etc. Text support service DOES NOT WORK

Apologies, I'll track the uploaded data tonight when my fiancee gets home (she will not be using her phone for long) and I'll have all wifi disabled until then.

I'm pretty sure the number is also miniscule, though, just from a quick glance. It's nowhere near saturation and is similarly tiny--but I'll get you the exact numbers. Nevertheless, it's nowhere near surpassing even 1/10th of the upload capacity at a given time.

Sorry, it passed my mind. I'll download WinMTR and try it when I put the wifi back on today.
