Re: Speed plummeted overnight: 21CN/IPSC work?

You don't need to reboot and shouldn't at this time of night.
Use the router web interface to disconnect then reconnect from Plusnet

Re: Speed plummeted overnight: 21CN/IPSC work?

Fixed for me ... 1.8Mb download speed (I know it won't impress you 12Mb guys, but it's what I normally get).
So ... what was it?
Thanks.
BTW, I did need to reboot, disc+conn didn't make any difference.

Even better - my speed is back up to 5900 and without rebooting or disconnecting!

Re: Speed plummeted overnight: 21CN/IPSC work?

It looks like we've got a misconfig on our new 10Gb connectivity that only became apparent once we'd got a certain number of users on there.  We've disabled the access to that part of the network, so by rebooting you've hopped to the bit that is fine.
Typical Friday night stuff!  I'm late for the Plusnet Xmas party!   Doh!

Re: Speed plummeted overnight: 21CN/IPSC work?

Noticed my sync speed was 7040kbps last night. Rebooted and then was 6752kbps. BT speedtester showed profile of 5500 also. Rebooted again today and now sync of 6784kbps
99% of time get 8128kbps sync.

All back to normal this morning.
Question is, what was the cause of the problem ?

Re: Speed plummeted overnight: 21CN/IPSC work?

I'm seeing some peculiar problems which may, or may not, be related to this - but I'm still seeing the problem to day even after rebooting my router.
I initially thought my problem was specific to VOIP applications, and wrote bout this inthe gaming forum.  It seemed that my outgoing voice stream was the problem, with what I was saying being delayed by many seconds (sometimes in the order of 30 seconds).  What I was saying also also seemed to be queed up, with nothing getting to the other end, then everything arriving compresses together.  Things I said were also often being repeated too.
I'd checked my broadband speed, and it seems (on 1st inspection) to be OK, but having investigated further there seems to be very peculiar behaviour with my upsteam connection.  Download seems (in general) to be ok.
For my upload stream, I'm see very variable results, but what is I think most revealing is that the upload test will often NOT COMPLETE.  The progress bar moves from right to left (the is http://www.mybroadbandspeed.co.uk/) normally to begin with, but then slows down and either pauses at the end for maybe 30 seconds, or sometiems never completes - giving an error "Upload test returned an error while trying to read the upload file".  The problem doesn't appear to be a speed test per se, but rather the huge pauses during progress and the test errors toward the end of the test.
I've also performed some checks on pingtest.net this morning, and it is indicating problems too.  I've always seen A or A+ results, but today I'm seeing C and packet loss which I've never seen before!!!
This all began around Tuesday, when I first saw (heard?) the problems with VOIP.  I'm guessing that the failed upload tests is also indicative of outgoing packet loss.  Right now my internet is useable, except for VOIP and very slow file uploads, or often failed uploads meaning they have to be repeated.

Something still amiss somewhere it seems.
Broadband suddenly became narrowband late Thursday afternoon-ish. Sync and IP profile both normal, and Wireshark shows correct packet priority.
Gateway hopping made no difference, nor a reboot this morning.   Sad

Re: Speed plummeted overnight: 21CN/IPSC work?

I also have slow download problems.  Have been on holiday for a week, powered up last night to read a few emails and didn't really notice anything wrong.
Today tried a few downloads and it was very slow.  Read Friday's report of problem, so left things for a while.  Cam back this pm and still very slow, even after a few reboots of router.  Sync speed fine, download speed slower than upload speed!!!
Raised a ticket no. 39593606
Message said that it is taking over 30 hours for response to tickets!!!!
Should have stayed on holiday.

It's all gone wrong again, my line was reset at 20:15pm and now I'm back to about 300Kbps download.

Re: Speed plummeted overnight: 21CN/IPSC work?

If you want to be sure that Plusnet know there is a problem, you need to call them.
