Speed Fault :)

Hi guys,
I am a new customer of Plusnet, i've been reading some posts on the forum trying to get some info about his kind of problems, but couldn't find anything specific ^^
I'm posting all the info requested, please let me know if you need some more Smiley

All the tests has been done when connected to the following gateway:
You are currently connected to gateway pcl-ag08.
This is located in City Lifeline House.
All the tests has been done at night, roughly at 3.30AM, so that's the best i can obtain. During the day speeds goes around 5-6 mbps.
Is not bad, but still not what we supposed to get. I was just wondering if it could be possible to improve the speed, or is just the distance from the exchange.
Thanks in advance Smiley

Re: Speed Fault :)

You have incorrectly been put on the ADSL1 service and not on  ADSL2+
So your line speed is limited to the max that ADSL1 does of 8128 and as a result your download can never exceed around 6 and a bit  as you are experiencing.
West ken' is both ADSL2+ and FTTC enabled.
Your line estimate is indeed in the correct ballpark for what I would expect.
Sigh

Re: Speed Fault :)

Hi ferra91,
Really sorry about this. I've just placed an order for your broadband service to be moved from 20CN (Up to 6Mb) to 21CN (Up to 16Mb). This could take anywhere up to 7-10 working days to complete.

Looks like it hasn't completed yet, Chris.  That's not really a fault is it?

Re: Speed Fault :)

The order hasn't completed yet, that's correct, however, the speeds are still low given that the sync rate is 8128K.
The order was rejected due to 21CN availability, I've submitted it again though.
