Solid orange light

Anyone managed to resolve this? Is it an issue my end or plusnets side? Been working fine last night then suddenly been off all day.

TIA

Re: Solid orange light

Welcome to the forums, @Manny90 . First question - is your phone line clear? Dial 17070, preferably from a corded phone, and after your number is confirmed, select option 2, the Quiet Line Test (QLT) The line should be silent apart from the regular 'Quiet Line Test' announcement. Any noise, report a phone fault. No noise, come back here for further guidance.

Re: Solid orange light

Thanks John. Unfortunately I don’t have a landline phone to test the dial tone. We literally only use the internet. Everything was fine last night and nothing has been touched our end. Then suddenly no internet all day since I woke up this morning.

Re: Solid orange light

OK, @Manny90 , that does mean a little bit of extra investigation, and unfortunately, I doubt there will be any PN Help Team staff on until Tuesday. Which Hub do you have - Hub1 or 2?

Try pushing a paper-clip or similar into the rest hole on the rear of the Hub and holding the switch closed for 30 seconds or so and report the result. It is going to be a process of elimination.

As a point of interest, a cheap (~£10 or less) phone is an essential tool until everyone has FTTP.

Re: Solid orange light

Panicking now as I have work to do. What a nightmare, typical this happens out of nowhere on a bank holiday.

Thanks, tried the factory reset and the light goes green, flashes orange then stays orange sadly Sad we have hub 2.

Re: Solid orange light

OK, that sounds like you have lost your PPP connection to the network, which will need PN intervention. As a further attempt to try and sort this, can you somehow post screenshots or photos of the 'Broadband' and 'Technical' pages from your Hub, as shown below?

Please obscure any personal details.

Re: Solid orange light

Not a silly question if you've never done it before. You need to log into the Hub management system by entering the details as printed on the pull-out card that comes with the Hub, and then navigating to them - should be fairly simple once you get the first screen up, but if you have difficulty, come back and ask - I'll be here until around 8.30PM

Re: Solid orange light

Thanks. Managed to get this up eventually. Not sure what was personal so please let me know if I’ve blocked too much. I can’t find a way to attach the images on this forum? They’re on my profile public gallery if you can view them there?

Re: Solid orange light

to insert the images, click the symbol between the 'smiley' and 'camera' on the row above the text box and follow the prompts. If you are using a phone/tablet, you may need to 'request desktop site' to see them.

Thanks. Yeah using mobile so can’t find the option. I’ve added the links above too externally if easier.

Re: Solid orange light

Thanks, @dvorak .

@Manny90 You appear to be totally disconnected. Probably a wild goose chase, but have you checked all your cables and plugs?

Re: Solid orange light

It’s a strange one. Yeah all cables intact. I only have the filter cable in to the main socket on the wall and then the cable to the modem. Only me and my partner live here so no one’s touched anything 😕
