@Townman Good point re confusion over what is wanted, I was just addressing the incorrect assumption about VOIP and didn't notice the other lack of clarity.

I suspect @JDG merely wants to reduce ongoing costs (as did I) by moving to SOGEA and ditching the landline costs, but as is now apparent that's not an option, certainly with PlusNet at present, as SOADSL appears to be the only alternative.

I've no idea what ISPs offer SOADSL or what it costs but given the situation it's certainly worth @JDG asking PlusNet COT for a "special deal" to match SOGEA pricing. A quick "Google" suggests SOADSL suppliers are mostly aimed at business and are not cheap! 🙄

I was running VOIP fine on a 2Mb ADSL (well 2.01Mb - just enough so I could not force any repairs).

 

That said I was the only user and would not be doing anything else when on a call.
