Re: Slow speed today?

Hmm.  the official line is upto 5 days.
It's normally quicker though.
If it does get to the 5 day period (which I suspect it won't), let me know and I'll raise a fault.
I reckon it'll probably happen overnight though.

Re: Slow speed today?

Surely 500kbps to 8128kbps should happen quicker than that! Can you see any slower syncs in the last 74 hours James?

Re: Slow speed today?

Thanks Jelv et Jamesh.
I smell a rat as my connection completely died (no LCP) before midnight on 29th. Left router on overnight and connection was working in the morning.
Suspect Stuck bRAS profile but 5 days does seem an awfully long time. BT creating a buffer for themselves I suspect.

Re: Slow speed today?

The helpdesk asked for router reboot (once) as the fault checker showed possible problem with exchange. Seems like profile, I mean progress is being made!  Smiley ... or have I spoken too soon   Lips_are_sealed

Re: Slow speed today?

Out of curiosity, when raising faults to BTw do plusnet have a 'hotline' given ownership by BT generally speaking?

Re: Slow speed today?

No.
We use the same procedures as all other ISPs.
It's against regulatory legislation for us to be given any benefits over our other suppliers based on who our parent company is.

Re: Slow speed today?

Regulatory legislation says that not even BT Retail have a 'hotline' in to BT Wholesale - supposedly.

Re: Slow speed today?

Yes, I suppose the official line would be that but then it's who you know in business that makes the difference.

Re: Slow speed today?

We don't have any 'hotlines' into faults at Wholesale, though I'm sure our faults team wish we did sometimes. Smiley
We do spend a lot of time and effort trying to improve our processes, and feeding back to our account management team at Wholesale to try and improve things across the board.

Re: Slow speed today?

Do BTw work weekends or is it purely 9-5 M-F only for faults?
