Slow Speeds today??????????

Anyone suffering from poor surfing speeds today,  or is it just me.
It's the first day of my upgraded account option 3,  and i'm getting incredibly poor speeds.
Unable to stream any video at all and missing out on olympics streams on iplayer :-[.
If Anyone from PN reading this, any chance you can look at my acount and see whats up.

We have been chugging along a little slowly this afternoon.  My speed was down to around 3Mb earlier instead of the normal 5.5.

What does a BT Speed test say?

My figures in post #1 were from the Plusnet tester.
the BT speedtester shows:
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
    Your DSL connection rate: 7616 kbps(DOWN-STREAM),  448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
    IP profile for your line is - 6500 kbps
    Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 4685 kbps
which is an improvement on earlier but not my usual speed.  The Plusnet tester is now showing a similar speed of 4772 kbps.

Barry,
I think (I may be wrong) that the latest BT Stage 1 Test still goes through the PlusNet Servers unlike the earlier version. As such a BT Test in itself won't show up a problem with the Plusnet system.
An example of this is my unanswered post http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,67256.0.html where the BT Test and the PlusNet net test gave almost identical results of just under 2000kbps but changing to RIN increased it to just under 3000kbps. Both the Ip rate and the Plusnet stable rate showed 3000kbps

As the OP has given very little detail on the problem, I requested a BT speedtest so that an IP Profile change can be ruled out - specifically as he has apparently switched packages (from an unknown package at this time).
One that is ruled out, we could perhaps go onto more in-depth analysis of their speed problem.

No worries - it's just in my experience a *lot* of problems are IP profile related, followed by bandwidth restrictions

Since my earlier posts my speed has gone back to its normal level again.
The community site is still slow but that's another thread

I upgraded from option 2 (15bg package) to option 3,  and the billing date started from today.
Speeds im  currently getting are close to dial up speeds,
I am supposed to be on 8mb but the few months i'v been with PN ive never had a speed test result over 2500kbps.
