Router keep dropping connection

I am using a Tomson TG585 router every so often it drops the connection, all the lights go off and the router appears to restart, this has been happening for a while at random times and was just wondering if there was any reason for this or anything i can do to stop it from happening?

Sounds like you have a faulty router if all the lights go out and it reboots (or power supply) . Have you got another router to try or can you borrow one?
