Decided to try and update my Thompson TG585v7 router that came when I joined Plusnet. Naively bought a ASUS DSL-N55U ADSL2+ Dual Band Modem Router and thought I'd be ok.
Plusnet staffer (sorry forgot name) gave help (ok not their router but the help was appreciated)
"connection type PPPoA
multiplex VCMUX or VC Base
VPI=zero
VCI=38"
No choice of Plusnet for ASUS dropdown menu for ISP so picked ADSL2+.
Cant get WAN connection.
Phoned again and next staffer said try BT or try Other.
Have also tried ASUS--not very helpful go to your hardware provider
A colleague has suggested checking if the firewall is blocking the connection.
Have seen on forums that others have had fun connecting this router.
I'm a bit of a novice. Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance,
Sue
