Re: Radius Log Request

The 1153 drop DIDN'T result in  a sync loss - in fact I haven't had one of those I have caught for over a week.  Huh .
Sync speed is also constant. - I check RS every so often, when the display drops to 0 - or below.
Will continue to monitor.

Re: Radius Log Request

Could be a quirk of RS, it has some, but it's the shape, especially of the last one that's puzzling. Let's hope it goes on without any drops then.

Re: Radius Log Request

The 1153 anomoly is most likely that RouterStats failed to communicate with the router.

That thought crossed my mind, but got any ideas about the other two?

Re: Radius Log Request

-1 looks like a genuine issue. Routers can hang on to a very low margin for a short period if there is very little traffic or no and hence no errors; but I'd have thought that would be measured in seconds - maybe up to 30 maximum.

Re: Radius Log Request

I've seen it remain connected with a DS SNRM of -2 for about 15 minutes until I manually re-connected it, the connection was of course unusable during those 15 minutes, nothing but CRC errors. I thought the amount of traffic doesn't make any difference to the error counts.

Re: Radius Log Request

Was that with the 582n?

Re: Radius Log Request

I had a bad night last night, so while I was up, I checked my stats, and the grab below is what I got.  Huh
I'm aware Anotherone, who's been patiently helping me, is away at the moment, but is there anyone else more technically aware than me who can comment?
The problem has not gone away, and I am still running RSL, but more important things are currently occupying much of my time.
Thanks to anyone who cares to look.

Re: Radius Log Request

Still having problems - had a resync giving me lower speeds and really high SNR this afternoon while I was out, so no activity on either the computer (other than RSL), and definitely NO phone activity.
BT speed test result:-
1. Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
Download  Speed
6.82 Mbps

0 Mbps 7.15 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 6.82 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 2 Mbps-7.15 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 6.78 Mbps
2. Upstream Test: -provides background information.
Upload Speed
0.59 Mbps

0 Mbps 0.83 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 0.59Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 0.83 Mbps

We were unable to identify any performance problem with your service at this time.
It is possible that any problem you are currently, or had previously experienced may have been caused by traffic congestion on the Internet or by the server you were accessing responding slowly.

Current line speed: 10.4Mbps
Will post RSL graphs in another reply - that is running on the laptop - this is being posted from the desktop. Smiley

Re: Radius Log Request

Was there an interruption in the electricity supply between the stats from the 15th and today? It looks like the 582n has rebooted because all the counters (like loss of signal, error seconds) have been reset.

Re: Radius Log Request

No, ejs, it wasn't a power failure - it was a 'stale session' , had to reboot router yesterday around 4 PM. Again, I was out when it happened around 2 PM.

Re: Radius Log Request

Since the drop in connection speed to 7688 and rise of SNR to around 13 on the 16th, incoming phone calls no longer result in crackling, but I still see a reduction in the upstream SNR, and instability on the downstream.
