I changed the filters on both the phone and router for the new ones supplied with the new router.
BT cabling is in a WHITE sheath as is all internal cabling - see pictures below.
I couldn't remove the backplate from the box - they must have either cross-threaded or really screwed it in -I'm not the strongest of people and didn't want to risk causing any damage.
No noise at all from QLT.
Extension box had T3 and T4 connected - it hasn't any more.
There were green/white - white green wires on 1 & 6 - I've left them in place.
Pictures below (in order) are (1) drop wire, (2) connector box in back doorframe, (3) upstairs extension box [sorry about the shakes] and (4) NTE5 box

The Upstream SNRM definitely showing up the problem nicely.
Drop wire looks to be fine and upto the correct standard.
Now that connector box on the door frame could well do with a look inside, and a nice clear picture of its insides and the connections Looking at that should remove the need to look at the rear of the NTE5a.

I'll try and get to that connector box tomorrow - all that fiddling about this afternoon has left me knackered - no seriously, my shoulders didn't like some of the positions I was in, and I'll need the step-ladder, being all of 5' 0" short.
I assume everything else is OK?
BTW - another incoming call dropped the US SNRM again - but DS was almost straight 6 for 99.9% of the call.

If you can post the SNRM graph showing the drop on the US when convenient. Other than that, leaving the supposed bad joint aside, I'd expect your night time (after dark) DS SNRM graph to be a bit smoother than before, now the bell wire is removed.

does that ring any bells?
Initially I was looking at the 08.11 and 09.11 as they were on one picture then I was looking at the afternoon picture with spikes at16-09 and 17.09 again 1 hour apart and it occured to me that that is just about when we have our water heating coming on/off in the summer. I know you were asked about anything electrical but maybe overlooked just a timer, if the heating is gas

Unfortunately, that is not the culprit - JDSTAT is running at 27 minutes past. Next idea?

So how about some other update or other process running hourly? AV?
Noisy US SNRM noted btw.

Any SNRM graphs from after dark yesterday?
As far as hourly update checks go, have a look at Flash. I recently updated the "pepper" version - Opera/Chrome - hadn't loaded it previously as I didn't use them and I don't normally allow auto-updates, anyway today sorting a few Flash and other issues, I discovered an hourly task Well that's been deleted!

FWIW, I tried a BTW speedtest + diagnostics, but it failed on diags - and I forgot what it said at the first stage.
Further report mid-morning tomorrow, and I'll try and add that last photo at the same time.
Checked - no hourly Flash check and unless I'm missing something, none for any other software, either. Silly question, but wheres the best place to check?
