Odd problem here, the last five or six times the telephone rang the red light on my router came on and the internet connection was lost, got back online ok once the phone connection ceased.
This has never happened in the past & nothing has been changed.
Any thoughts on this ?

Or possibly something like a Sky box connected to a phone extension without a filter?

Don't have sky box or anything like it.
Adsl filter is fitter but it could be bust, will replace it.
Thanks for the responses

Something else to try would be connecting your router (with a working filter) to the BT master socket's test socket behind its faceplate. Then try calling your phone number and see what happens.
If the router still disconnects then it might be a fault somewhere in your wiring..
Good luck with the fault finding

By "your wiring", I guess you mean BT's wiring leading to your house. Connecting into the master socket behind the front plate usually disconnects most of the house's internal wiring so if the fault continues it suggests the fault is *not* in your internal wiring.
All that assumes there is any other internal wiring, that the filter is good and that there is not a problem with the modem or the wiring between modem and socket.
I believe that I have seen other posts with similar symptoms where it has turned out to be a poor connection in BT's wiring and needs a BT engineer to fix it. But no guarantees on that
