Re: Price hikes coming 1st sept

and there you have itCheesy

you see it was reliable afterall

on the downside it appears from their wording they are forcing customers onto their new call packages (who have them) at even more cost to themselves

oh well time with plusnet was good, but time to look elsewhere soon

maybe we will meet again in the futureCheesy

for those thinking of moving to talktalk, they will also be hiking their prices

expect news from them to follow by the end of the week

Re: Price hikes coming 1st sept

Existing customers are *not* being forced on to the new phone plans as per this:

  • For existing customers:-
    • the Evening and Weekends call plans will increase from £3.00 per month to £3.50 per month.
    • the Anytime call plans will increase from £6.00 per month to £6.50 per month.
  • We will introduce two new call plans for new and existing customers:-
    • Evening & Weekend UK & Mobile Calls at £4.00 per month.
    • Unlimited UK & Mobile Calls at £8.00 per month.

For new Plusnet phone customers, the Evening and Weekends and Anytime call plans will no longer be available. Existing Plusnet phone customers can sign-up to the new call plans from 1st September.

Re: Price hikes coming 1st sept

that's good news then,

but why are you forcing new customers to sign up to the more expensive call packages?

if as you say you are not forcing them onto existing customers?

Re: Price hikes coming 1st sept

We're not forcing new customers on to them, it's their choice to sign up to them or not.

Re: Price hikes coming 1st sept

of you course you are, your giving them NO choice if they want call plans which some do

why not leave the old plans like you are for existing customers so they have a choice to choose the cheaper option?

suppose I can understand plusnet looking for extra revenue

Re: Price hikes coming 1st sept

New customers have a choice of the call plans that will be on sale at the time or line only. We generally don't keep legacy products on sale for new customers as this would mean a very large portfolio of 'active' products.
