Re: Plusnet IP Profiles that are stuck

mine eventually lept from 2000 to 10000 - but it took at least 3 days.  Also, speedtests show everything to be fine - but general browsing still seems sluggish to me!?

Re: Plusnet IP Profiles that are stuck

Username horror
Hi
Could you please change my Plusnet IP profile it dosn't seem to be moving
It has stayed the same even though the line is now on ADSL2+
From Plusnet pages:
Estimated line speed:
Not recorded (service activated before we introduced estimates).
Current line speed:
    7000
data from modem:
ADSL Status Mode State Up Speed Down Speed SNR Margin Loop Att.
  ADSL2+ SHOWTIME                 888800         15231400 13.0         16.5
BT speedtest said profile of 13000
although when adsl2 first came on  my modem  would sync at 1meg up 19meg dowm  snrm6.5db
Cheers

Re: Plusnet IP Profiles that are stuck

@Barxme: I don't think you have a stuck Plusnet profile so I've moved your post into its own thread here.

Moderator's Post:
@dev: I've moved your posts and replies to their own topic BT Profile Stuck, Nearly 6 days since the problem appears to relate to a stuck BT IP Profile rather than the Plusnet equivalent which is the subject for the present thread.

Re: Plusnet IP Profiles that are stuck

BT profile:
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
    Your DSL connection rate: 3260 kbps(DOWN-STREAM),  636 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 2500 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1291 kbps
PN profile:
Phone exchange: ALMONDSBURY
Estimated line speed: 2.0 Mbps - Checked on 2009-03-27 00:48:31
Current line speed: 1500

Can you give my IP profile a nudge in the right direction?
As far as I'm aware my IP profile has never changed from my transfer to 21CN (so it's been 2500kbps for around 3~4 years :D)

Re: Plusnet IP Profiles that are stuck

Reading some of these posts makes me very jealous cos my PN profile is still only 3K, has not changed since being upgraded!  Sync speed is only 5K+, don't know what BYw profile is as cannot get their speed test to run. Still would be nice if PN profile was nudged up to 4.5K what it should be. I've had an open Q on cs but no reply.

Re: Plusnet IP Profiles that are stuck

Hi Mick,
I've just had to make a few changes on your account, but your line should now be profiled at 4500Kbps.

Re: Plusnet IP Profiles that are stuck

Hi Chris
Please take a look at mine as well as synced at 5298/735 and mybroadbandspeed.co.uk shows 4542 (568kbps) and 627 (78.4kbps)  however, most of my downloads are coming in at less the 2Mb equivalent line.  Please place large boot where required on the system.
Thanks

Who is this Chris person?
Ben - Your speeds are being profiled at 4500Kbps on both our network and on the BT IP Profile.

Re: Plusnet IP Profiles that are stuck

I think I reported earlier in this thread (but I can't be bothered to find it) that, initially, my PN profile 5000 kb/s was above the BT one at 4500 kb/s, and I was happy to leave it alone.
The PN profile is the exact one from before I was moved onto the trial and has been fixed at 5000 kb/s ever since.
Recent sync's are as follows:
2009-05-24 07:18:  6415 kb/s down,  1016 kb/s up (reboot)
2009-05-26 06:54:  6426 kb/s down,  1029 kb/s up (LCP down/up)
2009-05-28 09:15:  6636 kb/s down,  984 kb/s up (reboot - I think)
I'm not at home right now, so I don't know what caused the reboot this morning.  I can't run the BT speedtest to confirm their profile but, anyway, my profile should be at 5500 kb/s by now.  The PN profile still shows 5000 kb/s, so it definitely looks like it's stuck.  Can you please unstick it?
[aside: I have been reporting some of the earlier info since the start of the trial on ticket 28466370, which Dave originally raised for the transfer, but the ticket seems to be in limbo:
last entry from PN was 13th April - "Stuck ticket, please action"]

Re: Plusnet IP Profiles that are stuck

Hiya,
I've made a few quick changes on your account so that any further speed profile changes should be picked up automatically.
I've also amended your profile from 5000 -> 5500Kbps in line with your current BT profile.
