Old Service Status Emails

I'm getting loads of out of date Service Status Emails dated last Thursday and Friday. I've had about 16 this morning so far.
P.S Now getting Monday and Tuesdays and duplicates now - What on earth is going on

Re: Old Service Status Emails

Me too - looking in the headers Usertools actually sent them this morning, i.e. it's not that they were stuck on a mail queue somewhere.

Re: Old Service Status Emails

Me too. I'm still getting them as well. Looks like the site has got itself stuck. Sad Fortunately I can delete them before downloading them but still a pain to have to filter them all out.

Re: Old Service Status Emails

The RSS feed appears to be ok, so it isn't thinking they are new alerts.  The mailling script must be having problems.

Can this be disabled whilst the problem is investigated? I'm still getting emails (lost track of how many) and it is likely to lose customers for a very useful tool.

Re: Old Service Status Emails

Yep, RSS feed looks fine. I too have received duplicate notifications via the email feed though. A problem's been raised (ref: 53625) and we're looking into this now.

Re: Old Service Status Emails

I hope someone has quickly looked at the mail queue on Usertools and purged it!

Re: Old Service Status Emails

OK, we've located the cause of the problem. The server's been unexpectedly rebooting of late and a lock file was left in place the last time we saw this happen. The emails aren't duplicates, it's just the system catching up.
You might find there are multiple instances of the Network Problems (53567) thread but that's because each update was in fact posted twice across two different Service Status categories.

Re: 32 service emails since 9:43 am

That's been discussed here.  It's a backlog that haven't been sent since the server was rebooted and a lock file was left.

Merged into ongoing thread. (Also moved from Rants and Raves, since its a rant about PUG rather than PN)
