Min Guaranteed Speed

Hello,

We've recently returned home from holiday and my kids are complaning of a drop in speed/netflix, gaming lags etc. I reset the router about 8 days ago ( its connected to the MS ) and figured it might improve after a week but it's still slower than before our trip away. Speed test results have it smack on our Minimum Guaranteed Speed of 54.6Mb, wheareas before ( and with previous supplier) we were getting 70Mb. I'm not particually tech savvy but the Downstream Sync Speed in the hubs status is set to 60mb. Could this be the bottleneck?

If someome could advise that would be great because I can't take much more moaning from my kids about their games lagging!

Cheers

Re: Min Guaranteed Speed

Receiving 54 Mbps when the router-modem has only managed to sync at 60 would be about normal.

But you were previously getting much closer to the 80 Mbps full line speed, where 70+ should be what you see with speed tests. So there may be an issue with your line.

So: "Text HELP for broadband or Text PHONE for home phone to 07800008121 ",  or contact plusnet by phone 0330 1239 123.

Let the community of volunteers here know how you get on. It may result in needing an Openreach engineer visit, of course.
