Mega download speed early on Today Tuesday 15th May .... 19.07mb/s 95%

Mega download speed early on  Today @ 03:45am, Tuesday 15th May .... 19.07mb/s
95% of rated 20mb/s specification
Copper, not Fibre

CTTP !

I've regularly been getting 17.35mb/s for weeks now

I've just finished a 6gb download, iPlayer, took one hour, several items HD, could this have increased my speed ?

I'm only 460 metres from my Exchange.

The low readings are when either PlusNet had an outage, and I used my backup Dongle, or other major network events causing slowdown.

We'll need to see your router stats to get an idea of whether your download speed has really increased.

Actually, under the new OFCOM regulations its 119% since it's now defined as 'up to 16Mb'  Smiley

Back down to "normal" speed now, as usually happens...

I am not troubled by, nor need to know the background to these speed variations, being a simple soul !
I just checked my welcome email..

Maybe it was that a lot of people lost connection so you were able to get a bit more speed Smiley

Looking at your account, you were upgraded to ADSL2+ in March!

Do you mean me Kelly? If that's the case I've been missing out for a few weeks! The first 'lift' was 4/4/12 and the current increase was 13/5. The lowest was on the 17th April. I have to say I haven't noticed any difference Smiley

You can either use
http://imageshack.us/
to upload larger images, as above, or in the first instance, when you get your speedtest result,
click on share to get to the page shown,

then click on forum, then copy, then paste this link into the body of your post.

Then delete this line, if you wish....
Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Share, Forum, Copy, then paste gives

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
For your second image, the screen grab, use
http://imageshack.us/   (I find 640 x 480 works best for me on this forum)

For ease of use, I have Imageshack on my Bookmark Bar, one click and you're there.
Using imageshack makes narrative posts, as above, very easy to follow, positioning images by appropriate text.

As an ex Media Professional, I like images !

Many thanks for that. It's the first time I've tried to attach images on this site.

There was nothing wrong with the image attached to the post I've quoted - when I clicked the thumbnail I got the full size image.
(and DON'T use imageshack - that's not needed for these forums, having them attached as thumbnails is far better)

OK jelv I'll continue with my simple method. That's if I need it again.....
If I'd not found this forum I would have thought the connection speed changes were an aberration!
