Master socket needs upgrading

Hi all,

My connection is very intermittent. I have a very old master socket which has seen better days.

How do I go about getting a new one? Does Plusnet contact BT on my behalf? Is there a fee?

Thanks

Re: Master socket needs upgrading

@cobb1es Are you sure it is the socket at fault? Which product are you on, and which router are you using?

What are the symptoms of your issue?

@cobb1es

Is Full Fibre available to you?

@cobb1es

Have you checked to see if there's a line fault?

If one is identified you could get an engineer out who "might" tidy up your connection.

The photos show a Junction Box.

This is a Master Socket

Re: Master socket needs upgrading

@cobb1es Who set this up? As @PhilipHeyes says, that is not a master socket, and whoever set it up was, to say the least, very unprofessional.

Personally, I would report a fault as suggested above, and talk nice to the engineer if/when they come, to get the connection regularised.
