Low speed adsl

Hi
I have been keeping my head down in the hope that speed may pick up over the last couple of weeks with plusnet, having checked several times a day have not had over 5.3mps.
I got this message today from plusnet
( Now that your service has now been active for 14 days, we thought we'd let
you know the speed as it stands today, by way of comparison.
Estimated line speed: 7.5Mbps
Current line speed: 5.5Mbps )
When I have checked the speed with online checks and BT, I have been using the master socket with a I.2mt ethernet cable and minimum electrical items close by.
Is it possible this could be improved at your end as I cannot do anything more at this end, It just seems very slow having come from 9.9Mbps.

Hi annaden,
Apart from a couple of disconnections on Saturday your line has been very stable. I would suggest rebooting your during the day to see if you can get a better sync rate first of all.
