Re: Losing internet on Hub 2

Sorry no, I meant a reset of the router.

Given the iPhones and iPads are also having trouble connecting, I think it must be a router problem?

As those with more knowledge have chipped, I'll leave it to them.

Re: Losing internet on Hub 2

Sorry, but my MS  experience ceased with W7 - which is why I am reluctant to comment on anything related to later OSes.

Re: Losing internet on Hub 2

It’s 140Mbps
Ethernet works but it took laptop a while to see it - but it has to come through an Anker USBC hub
Sadly we got rid of EE router a couple of months ago
It’s a TL-WA854RE
As per another reply - I’ve now removed TPlink from wall and all appears to be working now!

Re: Losing internet on Hub 2

That seems to be it! Pulled TPlink out of wall and everything seems to be working ok?

Re: Losing internet on Hub 2

So, as @MisterW advised to issue is dhcp via the TPLink
Was a member for years, but moved from PN fttc to fttp from an AltNet. Getting 940Mb up and down. Happy to stay on here and try to help others. 

Re: Losing internet on Hub 2

@Savbo -

What hardware revision is your TL-WA854RE ?  (V1, V2, V3, V4, or V5)

and what firmware revision does it have installed ?

Some people with this problem say that they fixed it in their TP-Link, by setting DHCP to OFF (instead of AUTO),

some say that didn't work until the extender had been factory reset first, and others said it was unfixable.

Note that these comments were for TP-Link extenders generally, so you might have better luck with your device.

Re: Losing internet on Hub 2

Thanks! Have turned off DHCP and things seem to be working. It’s a V4.0 but can’t see the firmware version on the Tether app?

@Savbo

The TL-WA854RE User Guide says -

Screenshot 2025-08-05 at 17-59-06 1910012795_TL-WA854RE_UG_REV4.0.1.pdf.png

Screenshot 2025-08-05 at 18-00-02 1910012795_TL-WA854RE_UG_REV4.0.1.pdf.png

The firmware for the V4 version of your TL-WA854RE, can be found here -

https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/download/tl-wa854re/v4/#Firmware

So you should be able to compare the firmware version shown on the screen above, with the latest on the website,

which is currently  "TL-WA854RE(EU)_V4_1.0.13 Build 231115"  with the release date  5th January 2024
