Re: Line speed dropped from 2.5mb to 512k is my cn21 activated?

It's definitely on ADSL2+.
I can't even test his circuit on the standard ADSL service as his ADSL asset has been ceased (obviously there's now a new one on ADSL2).
Either way - I can't raise a speed related fault in the first ten days.

Re: Line speed dropped from 2.5mb to 512k is my cn21 activated?

One thought - IIRC the MSANs are backward compatible with standard ADSL - is it possible that the router has been set to only connect with standard ADSL and not to ADSL2+? Most routers will allow manual selection of the modulation type and also have a "multimode" or "auto" option.
It may be worth explicitly setting the router to ADSL2+ (ITU-T G.922.5) or at least ensuring "multimode" has been set?

No - You may be able to configure the multiplexing method that your router is using.

@Duffy
I think the Thomson router is set to multimode by default IIRC.
I'm not familiar with that router but hopefully someone on here is and will be able to point you in the right direction.
If it is set to multimode you may just have to wait the ten days and then raise a fault if nothing's changed Sad

Re: Line speed dropped from 2.5mb to 512k is my cn21 activated?

so is there any way I can check the router config for this, or do I have to wait 10days, and then possibel find out it isnt a line fault, if it was a speed issue surely it would be capped at 2.5mbs which is the spend i had before

I didn't say you would have to wait for 10 days.
I'd expect this to pick up over the next 3 days - it's just the initial training appears to have hit a poor sync event and should hopefully pick up soon.
