System Up Time 00:58:06
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2752 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 59.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 9.4 db 19.0 db
The connection spped has dropped from over 3500 kbps to 2752 kbps. Woul it be possible to set the SNR at 6db to get a bit more line speed?

HI scimitar,
It would be possible to do that, but not really worth it as it would have changed for a reason. So, not worth doing it until we troubleshoot a little. How is your kit set up? Are you using and extension cables/sockets? Do you have a test socket you can plug into?

HI scimitar,
Are the drops in the graph from you rebooting your router or were you not aware of the drops.

Dear JoJo
Thanks for prompt reply. Disconnects shown on graph are due to me rebooting. I also tried another router DG834 v3 which tends to synch slightly higher because it uses a different chip set. I do have a long line ( about 5km) to cerne abbas exchange. Historically I have managed 2.4 Mb with about 6db SNR

Hi scimitar,
I'll try a reset but if it goes up again I can't see us being able to do much about it it from our end, with it being such a long line we'd expect the SNR to be a little higher.

Dear Jojo
I assume that the IP profile will go up after 2-3 days - is this correct? The SNR reset has improved the DSL connection rate from 2750 to 3584 Kbps
BT tester results:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1847 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 400-2000 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :3584 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 2000 Kbps
