Homeplug/router settings

Because my Technocolour wireless router is some distance from the PC, the signal strength was "poor". I have bought a pair of Devolo AV500 homeplugs to rectify the problem. Connecting them has been very straight forward, and everything is as stated in the setup guide, however my windows 7 PC is still showing me connected wirelessly.
Is everything OK - or am I doing something wrong!
Any advise would be very gratefuly received.

Hi, if you go into your network settings you can disconnect the wireless and the wired connection should be left running.
Right click on the network icon to open it up and the settings information is there. I use Solwise home plugs and this happens on both the desktop and laptop.
