Get up to ADSL2+?

Hi there,
Been trying to work out if we can bump our speeds up nearer to the advertised 20mbit. At the moment the line speed/IP profile is 7150, and we've always had a stable and fast connection from that.
The BT broadband availability checker gives me contradictory information:
Your exchange is planned to have ADSL2+ by 31st December 2010.
Our test also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL2+ broadband line speed of 15Mbps.
So I'm not sure whether it's coming, or whether we can already get it.
Any help would be appreciated. Please ask if you require any more details,
Kind regards,
Scott.

Re: Get up to ADSL2+?

I am not sure what you think is contradictory
When your exchange is enabled for ADSL2+ then, as calculated from your present attenuation, you could expect to get speeds approaching 15Mbps
You could put your attenuation in here for a cross check http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/max_speed_calc.php
Also what does this say http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/

Re: Get up to ADSL2+?

It was the 'planned to install' vs 'now currently supporting' which I found confusing, but if what you're saying is that the latter is merely an estimate based on my current Attenuation then that is fine.
Based on my downstream Attenuation of 16, the tool estimates a possible 21696kbps with 21CN.
My local exchange is Clapton, and the status checker states 'BT have advised that no current planned date for WBC on 21CN exists'. Is that what is important?

Re: Get up to ADSL2+?

That means you aren't going to get ADSL2+ in the foreseeable future  Sad

Re: Get up to ADSL2+?

The exchange search on samknows.com provides that the RFS date for 21CN WBC is 31/12/2010, the same as the BT availability checker.
Is it common to have contradictory information, or is there any way I can find out for definite what is going on?
Thanks,
Oldjim

Between the 1st and 31st of December 2010 according to the BT spreadsheet here.

Hi Scott,
The BT Availability checker is somewhat confusing in it's wording but Jim has the correct explanation for it.
