Flashing orange router

Have you changed the ethernet cable to the hub. Also, some time last year, Hive 'forced ' me to update the hub to a newer model as the old one will stop working. Have you had to do the same?

Thanks everyone for your help.Was out yesterday and in the sunshine so didn't see messages.So came down this morning hive hub disconnected and still flashing orange moved plusnet router about 1 inch sideways back to blue..Always happens overnight.To add to the complicated story we had 3 area power cuts in one night just before all this started and then open reach worked on lines right outside.We have had 2 open reach engineers looking at this last one checked wiring in house for internet and went up pole outside couldn't find anything wrong.They replaced by master socket too.We have had new router as well.I have replaced connection cable between hive hub and Plusnet router.Just going to see if that helps as original looked a bit of loose connection.Again see how that goes tonight as it only happens to flash orange then

Eh! i thought you were on Full fibre ? the master socket is no longer used , there's a separate box, an ONT (Optical network terminator) to which the router connects with an ethernet cable

Oh. You said in post #12 that you were on full fibre. That's why I withdrew my question about noisy landline.

In that case, when the orange light is flashing again, have a listen on the landline to hear for any unusual noises. 

You can dial 17070 & choose option 2 for the quiet line test. It should be completely quiet. No crackling or other noises.

We have no landline or traditional phone here.There was a definite line fault outside of the house which open reach have fixed we had line speeds of 4 MPs so now the line is stable all day with consistent blue light on router .It's now only overnight the issue happens with orange flashing but I did find the ethernet? cable between Plusnet router and hive hub was loose fitting so replaced with new cable.Fingers crossed this will fix overnight orange flashing?

As it says in the article, and as MisterW says, a look at your router log would be helpful.

So blue light was on all day yesterday and replaced cable between hive hub and Plusnet router hoping problem solved but no! Came down to flashing orange as usual.Went upstairs to boiler pressed controls and bingo back to blue.I have now changed my Plusnet router to last channel available channel 11 speed seems ok.Havecstretched router away as far as I can from hive hub.Thinking the easiest thing if that fails is to disconnect hive hub when on holiday and use thermostat to preset holiday settings.Thinking spent too much time on this and there maybe still open reach issues as they have installed fibre boxes on polls yet not connected them yet according to open reach engineer who came to house.All this started at the same time we had 3 area power cuts in one evening quickly together and apparently they had to divert power to different line wonder if they are working on overhead power lines at night?

Again a request for the Hub event log, there is NO private data in this file, best performed on a PC.

Connect to the Hub two using a web browsers, from the Home page navigate

>Advanced settings -->Technical log -->Event log --->Export.

This exports the event log as a CSV file to the PC download folder, it can be attached to a post.

The event log will detail time of "DSL link down" (Hub light flashing orange), LAN and WiFi device connection activities, along with other data, NO user information.
