Drop Outs

Hi, I've plugged my router into my master socket directly, I'm using the Plusnet 2 router, I've waited 5 mins for it to startup, and I get a connection, but I get dropouts in my connection, and for around 5 minutes I receive no connection at all, then the connection comes back online.

I'm doing everything as I'm supposed to setting up the router

what is Plusnet going to do about it?

Re: Drop Outs

@JamboUnchained Which type of master socket? Have you been advised your service is live?

Re: Drop Outs

OK. In that case, start with this - if you get no joy by tomorrow, come back and we can look into it further.

First thing to check: Is your phoneline clear? Dial 17070 (preferably from a corded phone), select option 2. Once your phone number is confirmed, there should be silence on the line except for the regular 'Quiet Line Test' message - any other noise, report a PHONE problem via: https://www.plus.net/help/report-a-problem/phone/

If the phone test passes, report a broadband problem via: https://www.plus.net/help/report-a-problem/broadband/

Let us know the result - if the tests come back as clear but you still have a problem, we need to investigate further.

Re: Drop Outs

@JamboUnchained   it might be 2023, but your broadband is delivered over a network first seen in the 1800's, and the easiest way to hear if your line is noisy and so internet slow, is a simple phone.
