Re: Draytek 2865ac - Sogea/ADSL2+

@MisterW Thank you, i have tried it with WAN 2 disabled and this has not resolved it I am sorry to say. If i had the password incorrect, i presume it would not connect at all? As that is the only thing i am not convinced about, it si the password i sign into my plusnet portal account with. However if i have read correctly, that should be the password.

That's correct, and if it was wrong you wouldn't get a PPPoE connection.

Do devices connected to LAN ports get IP addresses allocated in the 192.168.1.x subnet ?

Re: Draytek 2865ac - Sogea/ADSL2+

@MisterW They do, the LAN seems fine, even if i connect the PC direct to the Draytek, LAN cable straight in still now internet. The LAN works fine.

Seems to be a mystery!!!

Looks like i may have to reserve myself to the fact that for what ever reason the Draytek may not wok on my plusnet connection, i do know it works fine and has no faults.

Re: Draytek 2865ac - Sogea/ADSL2+

@Jasonzx636

The Draytek will work on Plusnet VDSL, I've had a couple working myself.

I can see two differences between the Draytek guide and your screenshots.

Picture 3 "Protocol" should be PPPoA not PPPoE

Picture 4 the VDSL VLAN tags go on "Service" not "Customer" (so one column to the right).

Set "Customer" to "disable" and "Service" to "Enable" with Tag value 101 and Priority 0.

Have another look through https://www.draytek.co.uk/support/guides/vigor-2860-vdsl-setup

if this doesn't sort it.

I can assure you it works and if needed I can fish out my old 2860, load the old config and check what I had set.

Re: Draytek 2865ac - Sogea/ADSL2+

@Jasonzx636  You appear to have given up on your Draytek configuration but as @markhawkin has said it will work and having searched for 2860 series set up info I agree that the VLAN setting should be in the service column as Mark says.

There is a Draytek knowledgebase article that is very vague and implies that either VLAN  type will work but I am not convinced as I believe the customer setting is for identifying multiple services such as Voice or IPTV. These are not supported on Openreach FTTC connections.

So it's worth trying that VLAN type change.

Re: Draytek 2865ac - Sogea/ADSL2+

For completeness, the Draytek guide does indeed show PPPoA, however it also says

"the VDSL2 interface will use PPPoE Protocol with the correct modulation automatically"

I thin the key thing is to put the VLAN tags in the correct boxes and give that a go.

Re: Draytek 2865ac - Sogea/ADSL2+

If the VLAN tag was wrong, I wouldnt have expected the PPPoE session to establish.

From earlier screenshots, it looks like the PPPoE connection is up

Re: Draytek 2865ac - Sogea/ADSL2+

Thank you all, i am currently had to go away for a few days, yet will be trying the Vlan change on my return.

I think that is the only other suggestion from what i am reading?

@MisterW

@markhawkin

@RealAleMadrid

Then after that, not sure what would be next. I will report within a couple days on my return.

Thank you all for your ongoing input and support

Re: Draytek 2865ac - Sogea/ADSL2+

Have another go with the VLAN tags in the right boxes.

I've not got a VDSL line any more but I've got a "shelf spare" 2860 which I can load my last (working) VDSL config into and see how it compares with Draytek's notes.

If you then are still stuck, Draytek's UK support is actually very decent and I'm sure they would assist.
