Do Plusnet have a non full fibre broadband package?

The latest email re digital switch suggests I can stay with Plusnet as a Broadband only customer (no longer use the landline element). But when I access the deals they seem to be all 'full fibre' (FF)Although FF is available in my area Open reach couldn't install without charging me £1500. I declined. Q. Do Plusnet have a non FF package?

@Barking1234

The answer is YES.

FTTC is known as SOGEA in the brave new world without phones. If this is not showing on your Members page then I suggest you phone the PlusNet Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632 to talk about it.

There is one possible complication. If your Exchange is a Fibre Priority Exchange then that might be wht SOGEA isn't showing for you. Use the following Checker and see what it says in the narrative.

Fibre Priority Exchange (Y / N)

@Barking1234 If you currently have FTTC+phone, you can ask PN for a SOGEA (fibre only) package. If you still need a 'landline' phone, youu will have to arrange your own VOIP connection.

Thanks. Trying to avoid having to phone (personal dislike) but will probably have to. Alternatively I just switch to EE and don't use the phone element 🤔

If you switch to EE, unless your email has been moved to Greenby, you will lose it.

@Barking1234

What does the Checker say about Fiber Priority?

If it's yes then you have a problem whoever your ISP is.

PN are actively trying to move people to Full Fibre but if SOGEA's available they will supply. Have you logged into your Members page to see what that says?

I don't want a phone connection...just concerned I might end up paying for something I don't want/need. Have 7 months left on contract so will probably move after that expires

Fix

Thanks

OK, you have a problem changing products / ISP. OpenReach will not accept an order for SOGEA if Full Fibre is available. Which it is according to the system. Which is why PN are not showing SOGEA as available.

However you know you can't get Full Fibre without paying around £1,500 in Excess Construction Charges which you declined.

You really need to speak to PN COTS to sort things out.

Can you attach a screenshot of the full report, @Barking1234 - that will give us more to work with?

@Barking1234

If not on a mobile start a reply and then click on the icon that looks like a rectangle with a mountain in it.
