Hi @superuser, sorry to see this, logs show that you've been online without any disconnections since you posted. How are things from your point of view? - Adam

Re: Disconnects - Help Please

It's odd because the new draytek router is syncing much better

Actual Rate 79997 Kbps 15984 Kbps
Attainable Rate 82006 Kbps 15876 Kbps

But it's like someone is messing in the CAB. Connection just drops

Usually not for too long. A few mins or perhaps 15 or so, just random.

Re: Disconnects - Help Please

Hey there @superuser I hope you're doing well this Xmas Eve.

I did a test on the line and it came up with Cross Talk and is asking for an engineer to come out to have a look at the line, when would you be free for an engineer?

Re: Disconnects - Help Please

So they do slots between 8-1 or 1-6. It's going to be a bit of a pain with the Xmas period but are you free from Tuesday onwards?

Re: Disconnects - Help Please

@superuser  I noticed in an earlier post in this thread "I use an Asus DSL-AC68U" I strongly suggest you never use that device again, it has probably the worst ever VDSL2 modem chipset in it causing grief for many users. It is known to not work well with the openreach DLM system, causing reduced speeds and dropouts. As you say the Draytek is syncing at almost the full downstream rate which is good. The cause of your dropping connection is still not explained but I would stick with the Draytek router and put the Asus in a dark cupboard.😁

I am surprised that crosstalk is suggested as a possible cause by @willcutforth , that is due to interference in the lines from the cabinet and causes lower speeds which does not seem to apply to your situation, also an engineer can do nothing to change it. The engineer visit may not achieve much.☹️ Intermittent faults are always a difficult problem as it's usually working fine when someone comes to have a look.

Re: Disconnects - Help Please

The Asus is indeed in a dark cupboard

Thanks for the input

It's odd, as I said, that speed and sync is good if there is a fault.

I'll leave it to those who should know best.

Plus net are always very helpful and quick

Re: Disconnects - Help Please

@RealAleMadrid yeah I normally agree, I just have to follow the pesky troubleshooter in which I have fedback on anyway. It didn't ask to do any checks or anything you would normally look at for it.

Re: Disconnects - Help Please

Well, I have not been contacted at this point. By openreach I mean.

Still get regular drops. Having a Zoom meeting is getting really awkward
