Hi
A friend is thinking of Plusnet as his ISP
Only the decorators have upset phone his line, causing crackling, heard when he makes a call.
Will this cause problems for his broadband connection when he gets around to it?
Thanks in anticipation
Roger

Hi familycat
To be honest, I can't give an overly clear answer here, but it may do, it may not. If it did, however, I'm pretty sure we'd be able to sort it out once your friend had become a customer

Has he tried a quiet line test (17070 - option 2) / tried plugging the phone into the master socket to see if this is still a problem?
If so it may be worth your friend reporting the telephone line fault to his existing supplier in the first instance and get this fixed prior to moving supplier.
If the fault is beyond the master socket in some extension wiring at home that's the customer's responsibility to fix.
Of course if the decorators have broken the master socket in some way that wouldn't normally be fixed for free.
(I'm assuming your friend has a phone service over a BT-line and not e.g. via cable.)
