Hi
I keep getting the plusnet assist popping up and my download speed is very slow tonight. I have pluggedmy router directly into the BT faceplate and its not helped. Before I go through all the testing etc can anyone tell me anything from my router stats?
DSL Connection
Link Information
Uptime: 0 days, 0:53:45
DSL Type: G.992.1 annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 448 / 8,128
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0.00 / 0.00
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 11.5 / 19.5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 11.0 / 16.0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 20.0 / 8.5
Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / ALCB
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 22 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 2 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 2 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 0
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 1
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 0
I will be happy for any advice, By the way, my router is about 3 years old and have moved house about 6 months ago. I did post back then but have been very busy but now need to sort this irritating problem. Do I need a new router maybe? Thanks in advance

Well from those stats there doesn't seem to be anything wrong that I can see.
For the download speed you've not specified whether it's a wired or wireless connection.
What is PlusNet Assist popping up and saying? It might be an idea that it's not working properly and might need to be disabled/uninstalled.

Sorry, its wireless. My speed has just shot up to its usual 6mg in the last 10 minutes though. I use Google chrome but Plusnet assist pops up on Explorer and just asks me if I want to fix my problem. It then waffles on about unchecking the proxy box under LAN settings.

Have you tried using different wireless channels?
When seeing slow speeds have you tried using a wired connection to confirm whether or not it is just the wireless that is affected?

Quote from: Realblonde unchecking the proxy box under LAN settings.
If this is a laptop you use at another location, or have previously used on another ISP who uses a Proxy server, you may not have the LAN settings optimised for use with your PlusNet connection.
Either open Internet Options from the Control Panel, or from Internet Explorer's Tools menu, click on the Connections tab, then LAN settings. Ensure that the only tick box selected is "Automatically detect settings" then OK and then OK again.

Hi there,
As mentioned your router stats look fine, have you tried a wired connection yet?
