Re: DLM Reset

Thanks,

I've run the fault bot. It came back and said it appears to be working well.

However my current sync speed to the router is 18mb and under my guarantee speed. Loading seems to be quite sluggish too

Re: DLM Reset

What are your current figures, and does your router provide any useful data? It is extremely difficult for any of trying to help, if we are expected o do it blind.

Re: DLM Reset

@selector14

What have you done to progress this?

  • You have been advised previously that an engineer is probably required - did you arranged for one to attend (acknowledge a request for a convenient date)?
  • Have you run the faults BOT?  You hint it does not work ... but do not say how it does not work
  • Have you phoned support?
  • You have been asked to supply the router stats on several occasion ... are you obtaining them?
  • Doe you have a PlusNet supplied router you can try out?  That will certainly deliver the required stats...

SNR margin up 6dB
SNR margin down 10dB
Line attenuation up 37dB

Re: DLM Reset

I have run the fault bot (as posted previously).
No fault found.

Haven't phoned support as of yet to arrange engineer.

I do have the Plusnet router still in storage

Re: DLM Reset

Trying the Plusnet router would be very helpful.

EDIT: Missed the post hidden above the one I linked to from notifications.

Those router stats seem to suggest that the service is indeed (again) banded at 18mbps leading to the elevated SNRM.  The broadband bot can miss issues which the copper circuit test can find ... such magic used to be capable of being run by @Marsh and @Gandalf and @Windings when they roamed these parts.

A DLM reset might be appropriate if a rigorous line test finds no fault (at the time of testing).  One serious disadvantage of a SoGEA service is one cannot plug a telephone into the line and listen for noise.

Re: DLM Reset

Ok, when I get chance at the weekend I'll swap it over and let you know.

I have posted the stats I can see from my current router above

Re: DLM Reset

Looking at the data in post #34 suggests to me there is a fault in the network -  a 10dB d/s noise margin is high, suggesting DLM is trying to manage your connection for stability.

Re: DLM Reset

Thanks jab1,

So is it best to contact support on this?

Re: DLM Reset

Let us see what the PN Hub tells us - it is somewhat more informative.

@Townman Sorry - cross-posted before I saw your edit.

Re: DLM Reset

@jab1

I do not think that the PN Hub will be any more helpful.  Given the lack of response to the question before, I was starting to believe that the user's router provided nothing useful ... it absolutely does ... if this had been provided earlier, better advice could have been offered weeks ago.

Re: DLM Reset

My apologies on the delays. I wasn't aware what my router showed and have just been incredibly busy
