I'm on ADSL2+ on 21CN network.
When the router is connected up to the phone line it performs an initial handshake with the phone exchange. The same happens should you power cycle the router.
In most routers it's also possible to go into the ADSL settings and disconnect / connect the broadband without triggering another handshake (for example if you wanted to try and connect on to a different gateway).
Do both actions above affect the DLM and the subsequent IP profile that you end up with or is the DLM only concerned with connection activity that causes another handshake rather whether the router is actuallu connected?
Grateful if someone could clarify this for me

Power cycling the router or unplugging the line will cause an immediate drop in synchronisation and hence may affect DLM. Disconnecting via the router configuration page does not affect DLM, even if it precedes a drop in synchronisation.
