Actually yesterday it went down twice?

Just been looking a the 'Error_no_carrier' message. Have the engineers actually  checked your connections on the OpenReach lines - i.e. from your drop-wire back to the fibre cab?

Nope, like I said the only thing they checked was the connection going from the mastersocket to the router

OK. Just that looking at one or two reports that contain that fault report, it seems to indicate connection issues (loose/corroded)

Is yours an overhead or underground link?

I actually have no clue how it comes in, had a look around and I believe its coming in from a flat in the middle under the ground

So no overhead cables then? A pity, as they are easier to check than underground connections. All I can suggest at the moment then is see how the new Hub performs, but I don't hold out much hope.

Really doubt its going to help, see someone on BT forums say they had same issue, and the faceplate got replaced and it solved, so I am assuming the issue would be with the cable, we're expecting fibre to the pole by late November, but it'd be the waiting time for pole to the flat block, surely I'd be able to also claim some compensation for the issues this is causing no?

Just a thought based the comment about the replaced faceplate in your post above - which master socket have you got - a 5C with a Mk.4 faceplate, or one of the earlier ones? Might just be an idea to plug direct into the test socket, using a dangly filter?

Thanks - that points fairly clearly to a fault upstream of your connection then. The new Hub will be of no use whatsoever.

Not entirely sure on what to do then, since PN probably wont care until I've tested the new router.

All you can do is test the new Hub, but I  sincerely doubt it will solve the issue. I'm sure it is a problem upstream of your Master socket.

Guess its a week long waiting game, then however long it takes for it to disconnect before I can report it to PN, surely I'd be entitled to some sort of compensation due to the issues caused by the intermittent connection, I've just started a online uni course and work from home so the issues with the connection is a big issue, I can't even get reliable 4g(9mbps/2up at most) where I am so I have to rely on ORs network, and like I said before we're expecting fibre going to a pole by the end of November, so it'll be a bit of a wait if I have to wait until FTTP

I don't know about the compensation angle, to be honest, but from what I have read on here, this is only payable if you have a complete loss of connection for longer than 3 days after initially reporting an issue.

Seems like a bit of a joke in my opinion, had to shape my day around the friday engineer time, and then having to call repeatedly, especially with the engineer not even batting a eye at the logs etc
