Church Broadband

As a PlusNet customer myself I have recommended them to our local church.

They have no phone line and are currently using a router with a sim card that just isn't fit for purpose.

Now we have fibre available in the area, they won't need a phone line, but can they apply for residential Broadband or would it need to be Business does anyone know? They are a charity (if that makes any difference)

Also does anyone know set-up costs? I can't seem to find anything that says there are any but may be missing it

Thanks in advance

@SamWise76

Can you use the Address version of the following and post a screen image of the results. Hide the Church details but include the narrative below the results window. Full Fibre shows as WBC FTTP.

I would imagine no one at PN would check on their status but you never know. Plentry of people on here own up to running a business from home using a residential connection.

There are no set up costs as such but OpenReach might charge Excess Construction Charges depeniong on the difficulty of installing the fibre optic cable.

Re: Church Broadband

@SamWise76 you may find you have a problem placing an order for a residential full fibre product. Since fibre requires a new installation, you may find that the premises are listed as 'non residential' and thus Openreach won't accept a residential order. Also a residential account has a single person responsible for the account. If personnel change you have problems!

I'd look at Zen for a business account or BT business if you wish to stay within the BT group.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Is that OR fibre or an altnet? If it is an altnet some of them have special deals for community hubs - village halls, churches, youth clubs etc. Some even provide a broadband connection for free for one such hub in each area. I guess it is a marketing approach to make the local community view them favourably.
