Broadband Speed is way below even 1mbps

I have had problems with the broadband speed since day one, and now it's even lower. I just ran a broadband sped test and the download speed is 0.42Mbps and the upload speed is 0.14Mbps. This is incredibly low to the point I am currently using my mobile data as a hotspot connection instead of the WiFi I'm paying for. My laptop is positioned right next to the router, so I am not understanding why my connection is so slow.

@shoshi Welcome to the forums. Just so I don't give you misleading information, can you confirm you are definitely on ADSL, please?

Thanks a lot for reaching out via our Community Forum. I've run some tests on your line this afternoon and have found no issues with the service at all. The broadband profile on both ours, and our suppliers end appears to be connect, and the line is syncing at around 16.8Mbps.

The issues you're having may be caused by the wireless connection. To diagnose this further, please connect a device to the router using an Ethernet connection and run another speed test. Let us know how you get on and I'll be happy to follow up.

If you're interested, I've added my test results to this post for your reference.

@adam945 Out of curiosity, what is the line attenuation for the OP?

@jab1  it's shown as loop loss in the KBD test as 16.5dB downstream so a fairly short line, the sync speed should probably be higher. Looks like the OP did a speed test on Wi-Fi which is a waste of time.
