Re: BBYW Option 1 - refresh?

Well, thanks for that HPSauce, but why would someone want it on a residential basis/Option 1 - as reading Wikipedia it sounds more like a business would use it?
Or does it mean that family/friends are operating like a business?

I've no idea why in this case, certainly businesses use them, including access to work systems through a home connection. I used to run a very big worldwide VPN network.
Or you might want to securely link a "family" network together between several houses.

If you read the OPs first post they explain what they are using it for - RealVNC to connect to someone elses PC.

Quote from: Nick
I am trying to get my mother (pensioner, poor, don't weep) to move from dial-up to broadband. I currently use RealVNC via her dial-up.  It works but painfully slowly.  The restrictions on Option 1 mean that even if she switched to BBYW Option 1 the VPN/VNC speed would not improve that much.  By the way she is a huge user, maybe 1 GB per year.

Following the Option 1 refresh have VPN access and restrictions been changed?

Re: BBYW Option 1 - refresh?

Hi Nick,
The only changes to the product have been the usage doubling.
VPN usage is still restricted to 128Kbps.
