From experience, Openreach may call in advance - but you can't rely on it.
Until it was fixed "properly", our line was going faulty every few weeks or so, (the lines in our part of the estate all came through one joint up the road. Openreach would open the joint to repair one line, but another was almost always disturbed in the process - so the cycle was repeated continuously).
I would rate them calling in advance of turning up no better than 50-50.
What they were very good at though, if it was later in the day, was saying something like "I'm just popping back to the cabinet/exchange", and not coming back - with the fault not fixed!
Did you bother to respond to the ticket?
Are you running the most up to date mind reading software?

Pardon me?
Simple question - communication is a two way thing - so did you respond - why are you thinking you should have had a phone call?
Just wondering!
