Re: Question about my line stats.

Hi anything but,
I've done that now, I'll check it in a bit and see if it's taken effect.

Re: Question about my line stats.

Hi anything but,
your sync is now 4064 with a profile of 3500 so I've changed that at our end. I think that's better but a different router/filter/test socket would probably be the only way to improve on that (or make it worse!)

Re: Question about my line stats.

Cheers Jo, what's the NM like? I can tweak it a bit with the DG834GT to get my 4mb profile back anyway. Smiley

Re: Question about my line stats.

Another update...
Seems i have a annoying intermittent line problem still, tried 2 routers (in the process of having one of the PN ones sent to me to try out) managed to catch it yesterday tho.....short burst of line noise, fluctuating NM,then a line drop and resyncs with a slightly reduced line sync/raised NM but with a upload speed of 96kbps.
Been watching the line stats like a hawk and so far on this router (old single port speedtouch) stats are ...

PN`s router should be here today or tomorrow, don`t think it`ll highlight anything i`ve already not found tho,but at least it`ll eliminate any equipment faults before the broadband engineer is booked. Smiley

Re: Question about my line stats.

Hi anything but
Let us know how you get on with the new router. Are you still in the test socket by the way?

Re: Question about my line stats.

I`ll send one back with the PN router when i`m done with it. Cheesy
just had a jump in FEC/CRC/HEC upload errors a moment ago.
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 159 / 1,114,237
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 159 / 30
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 124 / 29
What would be considered a high ammount to take note of in FEC/CRC/HEC errors  jo?

Re: Question about my line stats.

Indeed something from PN to indicate what is a normal or acceptable range for those values would be very interesting to know.
Many routers will give this information for the 'last 15mins' and 'last 24hrs' which helps people see intermittant issues.

Re: Question about my line stats.

Stats from the PN router with just over 2 days uptime...

Uptime: 2 days, 3:40:26
DSL Type: G.992.1 annex A
Channel mode: Interleave
Maximum Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 884 / 4,608
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 448 / 4,384
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/GB]: 0.00 / 6.41
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 11.5 / 19.5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 29.0 / 48.0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 20.0 / 5.5
Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / ALCB
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 38 / 258,793
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 9 / 97
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 3 / 730

Looks like i have a little less (down) FEC errors,a few more CRC errors and quite a few more HEC errors compared to the last router i tried.
Anything to be read into that those with knowledge? Smiley
