FTTC availability - Blandford exchange

I'm looking at a house near Blandford - postcode DT11 8TA.
SamKnows and Plusnet's 21CN Exchange Availability both say FTTC March 2012.
https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html says:

Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed between 11.1 to 30.6 Mbps and upstream line speed between 4.1 to 7.2 Mbps.

How do I find out which is right?

Re: FTTC availability - Blandford exchange

According to the detailed Postcode Checker that postcode isn't shown as getting it on the current plans

Which postcode checker? When I put the postcode in to the BTw one I linked above I got the result I quoted.

Re: FTTC availability - Blandford exchange

It was a file PCP to Postcode Report 13042011.csv which was linked to on these forums a while back
http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,95626.msg805045.html#msg805045 which was in reply to a post of yours

Re: FTTC availability - Blandford exchange

It is advised to use your telephone number on the BT availability checker, as the data is more reflective for your specific line.
There are a number of reasons including that a postcode may be served by multiple cabs, so cannot indicate or reflect your specific line directly.
Some cabs are enabled in multiple phases, with a certain percentage enabled at one stage and others in a second or multiple other stages. Only your phone number will provide data on which stage.
The postcode checks do indicate that you should use your phone number for more accurate data.

Re: FTTC availability - Blandford exchange

I've been in contact with the agent and he tried the BTw checker with their telephone number which it didn't recognise. He has now discovered they are on TalkTalk LLU.
Any idea how I can progress further in finding out if the BTw check by postcode saying FTTC is available is actually correct?

Re: FTTC availability - Blandford exchange

The only way I can think of is to actually try and order the service, and see if it works 😕
I realise it's not ideal but it's about the only way that would tell you for sure.
