0845 Broadband Phone Information

This email has recently been sent to customers that have an 0845 number on the Broadband Phone platform.
In November last year we announced trials of a new Broadband Phone platform:
Future of Broadband Phone
Our original Broadband phone service had, over time, lacked both the features and reliability we know our customers expect from an ISP like PlusNet. By partnering with Gradwell, a leading UK supplier of VoIP services we can both address the reliability issues and offer a high quality service which provides exceptional value for money.
We have now successfully completed the first stage of the trial and can confirm that we intend to start moving customers to the new Broadband Phone platform in the near future. For most customers this should be a seamless transfer, however with any such change there is potential for disruption. The advice below will ensure we can to minimise potential problems and make the changeover as hassle-free as possible.
Additional Information
======================
- Part of the transfer process will by default involve the removal of 0845 numbers. Customers who wish to retain their current Geographic 0845 numbers will be able to request this here.
We will endeavour to keep downtime to a minimum, however the process of porting current 0845 numbers to the new platform will result in an extended period of time during which the number will be unavailable. We will provide further details about the process of number migration in a follow-up email.
- Customers who don't intend to keep their existing 0845 number will be offered a choice of any geographic (01, 02) number when they are move to the new platform. Non geographic (08) numbers will be available as an optional extra at a later date.
- Remember, you can benefit from the features offered on the new platform immediately by requesting a new VoIP account at http://trials.plus.net. By doing this sooner rather than later, you can manage your own migration and help us make the whole transfer process easier to manage.
- If you are already using the new Broadband phone platform we will transfer over any outstanding credit at the time of closing down the old platform. Customers will not need to take any further action.
We will send a further email to confirm exact dates next month, and in the mean time if you have any questions please feel free to contact us via http://trials.plus.net or in the dedicated discussion forum.

Ian Wild
