Tonight (1st December 8pm) Speeds are awful....usually excellent.

Currently trying to fix someones PC of a virus and trying to update Spyware doctor withg 18mb of data is going to take 50 minutes!.
Did a speed test and am getting 2mb, the exchange in 10 metres acrosss the road, tried rebooting the router.
Also my brother was trying to download a demo earlier, but he gave up, would have taken 3 days!
Just tried to download service pack 3 to see if it was just the sites, got 10k dropping down to 4k.
Is anyone else suffering these problems tonight?

Exceptionally surprisingly for a Monday night at 9PM, I am also running at line speed, and browsing is snappy enough

No gold drops as well tonight

I had some speed problems last night.  I disconnected and reconnected with no difference what so ever, then I checked the gateway I was on (I think it was the City Life router), then did another disconnect and reconnect and everything was nice and fast as usual.  I was on a different gateway then, but can't remember which one.  It's possible my first disconnect put me on the same gateway, but I never looked.

My 9-10Mbps O2 connection was like chocolate treacle.  Actually, no it was worse than that.
It's not even working this morning Tongue

jameseh ive posted before when youve said your o2 connection was slow.
i was connected to my sisters pc last night at around 7pm-9pm and shes on the up to 8mb adsl2 o2 prouduct. lives right next to manchesters central exchange and she was getting full speed.
made me  Cry as she was getting 3 times more speed than me even with me connected to her pc. i need the huble telescope to see my exchange
it may be  the fact that she lives in the centre of manchester so most bussiness have closed at that time and not using there connections that she dosent see the same slow downs as your self on o2

Glad I wasn't the only one with slow downloads last night - was beginning to think it was my kit.  I'd taken the pc to a friend's house earlier in the day and this DELL is very temperamental and doesn't like being moved...
As someone said - the 'net was obviously 'broken' - but it appears to have recovered by this morning - presumably caused by LOTS of traffic?
Toatally unconnected I'm sure but my router also did a re-sync during the night - and obviously the speed went down  - argh !!!

Hmm.  The posts that you're replying to were about Monday night's traffic, not Tuesdays.
Yours is so far the only slow speed complaint that I've seen for Tuesday night.  What sort of speeds were you getting and what would you normally get?
