I started with Plusnet a couple of months ago, was initially on ADSL Max and got upgraded to ADSL2+ just over 2 weeks ago.
After the inital 10 days on ADSL Max I mostly powered down the router when I switched off my PC. There was no effect on speed at all - I got a pretty steady 6Mbps download speed all the time.
I am currently leaving the router on all the time but wondering whether switching it off when not in use would affect the ADSL 2+ service, normally running at about 16Mbps download, differently than it affected the ADSL Max service.
Does anyone have any hard infomation on this?
Dave

Hi daveplus,
chances are just switching the router off will cause problems. If you want to power it off, then disconnect through the router interface first. The DLM will not see this as a loss of connection as it would when just turning the router off.
