Re: Slow upload

Wireless. As I said before, I don't have the option to wire in the PC. The PS3 is hard-wired though and using the very basic test on the playstation the upload is 343kbps. All my usage at home is wireless so this is the element that has to work.

Re: Slow upload

Is yours a V8 router? If so you'll need JoJo to dig you out a V7 (or use a router of your own).

Re: Slow upload

Yes, it's a V8 (if only I was talking about my car!)
Is there any drawback to a V7? Should I be looking to source my own router?

Re: Slow upload

Hmmm...
I had hoped that JoJo would have offered you a V7 by now.

Re: Slow upload

If PN know that slow wireless uploads is down to a firmware issue on the V8 then are they talking to Thomson about it and trying to get it fixed or is their only solution to send out the older V7s?

Re: Slow upload

Or (if I were being cynical) ignore it until the customer sources their own (unsupported) router. Just tried and failed again to do a cloud back-up.

Re: Slow upload

Glad i started reading this thread, a friend of mine was having trouble with her router it wasn't working properly so Plusnet have sent her another one, which i think is the V8.
She has tried uploading a photo and it wouldn't do it, so she asked me if i had any idea's.
None of us have much knowledge of routers but i am wondering if this V8 is the problem, she is so fed up with it she has had to go on vodafone mobile to upload her photos. Cry
Should she contact plusnet and tell them,

Re: Slow upload

It just keeps getting better. The interesting bit is that when running a speedtest, the upload starts with a 1meg burst before falling back to a fraction of that. Is it too late to get a MAC code...
