Re: Slow upload

Ok, if you're sure. Let me know if the problem re-occurs and I'll get one out.

Re: Slow upload

Hi there everyone, I'm a new customer and while my download is fine, my upload too is shocking  Embarrassed
I have this thomson router TG585 V8, could this be the cause? The line in my flat has been connected by BT openreach but sometimes when I'm on the telephone there is some 'noise'. I'm currently using the router without a telephone connected. Just router - microfilter - main socket in flat.
My result is here:
Thank you!

Re: Slow upload

Hi nazimjamil,
That upload is normal for the way your line is set up. I can uncap that for you so you'll get more in the region of 900K. I'll place the order now and this should take effect on Monday.

Hi Leeheyes,
we have had an issue with wireless uploads with certain router/computer combinations.
Jojo Smiley

Jojo - is this a permanent slowness or one that comes and goes. My V8 router (shipped to fix issues I was having with my V7) shows this problem but it goes away for a bit when I reboot it. I've got my V7 acting as a secondary wireless connection and if I connect via that I get startling different results:
[tt]Date Download Speed Upload Speed
Today 12:42 2358 kbps (295kB/s) 374 kbps (46.8kB/s) Share
Today 12:40 2512 kbps (314kB/s) 112 kbps (14kB/s) Share
[/tt]
The top one (374) is via my V7 Router. The 112 is via the V8 router which is acting as the ADSL connection.
The V8 is running 8.2.7.8  and the two laptops are both running Intel Wireless cards (I can get specific model info if you need it).

Re: Slow upload

Hi SteveA,
I would say, from this and the Thomson router thread, that it seems to be a combination of constant slow upload and those who report it as something that deteriorates over time.

Re: Slow upload

Well I think my V8 is defective.
I restarted it and the upload is still lousy using wireless:

(the top one being my V7 which acts as a secondary wireless access point).

Re: Slow upload

Hi SteveA,
would you like me to try and arrange to get you another v7?

Re: Slow upload

Next week I'll try a hard reset of the router and do a complete reconfig and see if it fixes it.

Re: Slow upload

Hi,the line should have settled down now but the upload is still horrific...

This was a good result, most times it's much lower than that
I also did the bt speedtest tonight too. This is now starting to effect how I can use the internet. Uploads are failing due to the low speed. What can be done?

Re: Slow upload

Ping is getting longer too. Almost double what it was a week or so ago.
