Remote assistance settings for Thomson 585 v7 router

Can someone please tell me what the settings are for the 585 V7 router.
I wanted to test mine from work.  I set a username and password but can't for the life of me remember what the port number is

What exactly are you trying to do, VPN, Remote Access...?

I just want to remotely log onto the router itself to test that I can in case there is ever a problem when I am away and I need to change any settings etc.  I thought it better to test now rather than when I really need to.

Does it have an external static IP?
I don't have or use a 585 so can't help with it's configuration I'm afraid.

You should just be able to set it up from your toolbox menu.
